Shekar Nethralaya is staffed by super-specialists and consultants with qualifications from some of the best-noted institutions of higher ophthalmology, including AIIMS, Arvind Eye Care, and L.V. Prasad Eye Institute. These doctors are also members of important professional associations and possess a wealth of practical experience. Shekar Nethralaya has eight dedicated consultants who have expertise in different areas of eye treatment. They work for up to eight hours from our hospital premises.  Other staff members

Other staff members at Shekar Nethralaya, including nurses, hospital boys, cleaners, receptionists, paramedics, and administrators are well educated and trained. They can all speak perfect English and communicate effectively with patients from any background. All the staff members are encouraged to constantly hone their skills and motivated to provide optimal care and comfort to the patients.

We only employ qualified and experienced staff at Shekar Nethralaya. Following are the basic qualifications required for each member of the hospital:

• Optometrist: Diploma in optometry or Diploma in ophthalmic assistance

• Front office executives: MCOM, MA, BA, B SC, B COM

• Optical sales executives: BE, BSC, BA, ITI

• Counselors: BSC, BA

• WARD Nurse: GNM

• CRM: MBA, BSC

• OT assistants: BA, PUC, experience of more than 5 years

• LAB: Diploma in medical laboratory technology, experience of more than 5 years

• Administrator: Diploma in hospital administration

• Accounts: MBA, BCOM

• Marketing: BA, BSC

• Floor assistants: SSLC, PUC

• Housekeeping and maintenance: ITI, PUC

• Secretary: BCOM

• HR: MBA

Staff training

As per ISO rules, the hospital follows stringent training guidelines for all new staff members. A detailed induction session is conducted based on the skill of the new member. To update the knowledge of all the members, our founder, Dr. Y.L. Rajashekar periodically gives training sessions. During these sessions they are told about common eye care procedures, symptoms, and diseases. They are also informed about what kind of care should be given to patients suffering from different eye diseases. All these initiatives give a professional environment to the hospital.
